Pangkor Laut

You can't get much more exclusive than this - Pangkor Laut is situated on the bay of a private island on the west coast of Malaysia amid 300 hectares of rainforest - guests are transfered from the mainland by the resort's own ferry. There are 148 villas and suites including accommodation built on stilts over the sea. The resort has won a host of awards including being placed in Condé Nast's Traveller UK Reader's Travel Awards 2006 and receiving the accolade of Best Spa in Malaysia by The Ultimate Spa Guide in the same year. Pavorotti is just one of a host of the rich and famous to have spent time relaxing in the resort which is also a favorite destination for honeymooners.

Food

There are eight different places to eat and drink on the island offering a range of everything from Asian and Chinese food to pasta and seafood dishes. The Fisherman's Cove restaurant at the Spa Village for instance offers sea views and specializes in Western Grill, Chinese and Italian cuisine.

Facilities

A specialist Spa Village, covering four acres of land features eight treatment pavilions, healing huts (Chinese Herbal, Ayurvedic and Malay) Thai and yoga pavilions. There is also a 35 metre lap pool, tennis courts, fitness center, squash court and water sports center.

Treatments

All the treatments begin with a Bath House Ritual which represents different Asian bathing traditions and includes a foot wash, Chinese foot pounding, Japanese style cleansing and Shanghai scrub. Then it is a case of taking your pick from a wide range of different massages, facials and other treatments - there is also a Wrap House specializing in different body wraps.
